Director of Sales & Catering

  • Leads the Sales team for all rooms and Conference Center meeting space
  • Oversees all events details during planning process including Menus and Pricing for the Conference Center
  • Coordinates major events for local companies
  • Sales Manager for Cooperate, SMERF, and Association Markets
  • Over 12 years experience in hospitality and events located in the Detroit and Mid Michigan Areas.
  • Member of National Association of Catering and Events (NACE), Association of Bridal Consultants and National Association of Professional Women
  • Alumni of  Rollie Denison Leadership Institute
  • Interests include reading, gardening and spending time with her family that includes her husband, sons, dog and cat

Laura Canute

Conference Center Director

  • Oversees all events and staff in the Conference center
  • Responsible for expense management and leading the staff in all day to day operations to ensure perfect execution of all events and Meetings
  • Over 25 years of hospitality experience including seven years as a Food & Beverage Manager and Banquet Manager for full service resorts in Mystic, Connecticut
  • Laura is married with two children. Personal interests include camping, canoeing, being on the water and spending time with family and friends

  • Responsible for menu development, expense management, scheduling, kitchen management,  and leading the staff in executing all day to day operations to ensure perfect execution of all events
  • Sales Manager for the Government Market
  • 15 years of hospitality experience including work in Private Clubs, Quick Service Restaurants and over 9 years at our Conference Center
  • 2016 CMU Graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management
  • Personal interests include golfing, boating, and spending time with his dog

Sales Manager & Wedding Coordinator

  • Wedding Coordinator who is on site for every wedding and to assist in the entire planning process
  • Sales Manager for Sport Market
  • Responsible for contacting, coordinating, and detailing Conference Center events
  • 2021 CMU Graduate with a Communications Degree and Hospitality Minor
  • Personal interests include being outside and spending time with friends and family
